How to buy
One seller, and what it means for your accounts payable team
Subscriptions are sold through Paddle, which acts as merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles the sales tax. A customer can issue a purchase order for Team, Program, Enterprise or a pack of 25 deals, and pay the invoice within thirty days of its date.
How it works
- 1. You tell us the scale and the date. The form below is enough.
- 2. We send a quotation within one business day, in the form your approval process needs.
- 3. Once it is approved, you issue a purchase order against the quotation (Team, Program, Enterprise, or a pack of 25 deals). Service starts when we accept the PO.
- 4. Paddle invoices you on net 30 terms. You pay within thirty days of the invoice date, through your normal accounts payable run.

What procurement usually asks next
- Who are we contracting with?
- MarkR Management Inc. for the software, under the terms of service. Paddle for the payment, under its own terms. Two agreements, both published.
- Our accounts payable needs a W-9.
- A W-9 is for US persons, and MarkR Management Inc. is a Canadian corporation. The form a foreign company provides instead is a W-8BEN-E. Ours is being prepared with our tax advisor, and we will send it on request once it is ready.
- We are tax exempt.
- Most public bodies and many unions are. Say so when you ask for the quotation, before the invoice is issued.
- Our contracts must be governed by our state’s law.
- The standard terms are governed by the law of British Columbia. We are preparing a US public sector addendum: your state’s governing law and venue, a non-appropriation clause, no indemnity from a public body, and acknowledgment that the contract may be a public record. Until it is published, raise these at the quotation stage and we will answer in writing.
- Can we buy through a cooperative contract?
- Tell us which one you buy through, and we will tell you plainly whether we can be reached through it.
- Where is the data held?
- The record is held in Canada today. A US region is planned, not built. Your documents stay in storage your own organization owns. Text messages, emails and payments are processed by their providers (Twilio, Resend and Paddle), in the United States and the United Kingdom.
- Do you hold a SOC 2 report?
- Not yet. The SOC 2 Type I audit engagement is scheduled to begin on February 11, 2027. We will put our commitments in the contract with a remedy if we miss them.
- Does the other side have to buy it too?
- No. Where one party subscribes, the other joins that negotiation at no charge and on the same terms of use.
